Applications for MMTA Chair

As Guy Darby reaches the final few months of his Chairmanship of the MMTA, the search has begun for his successor.  Gladys Smith of Sanab Ltd, a former member of the Main Committee, announced her candidacy at the recent EGM.

 In summary, the role of Chair:
• Acts as figurehead of the Association
• Involves an element of public speaking
• Chairs Main Committee meetings once a quarter
• Chairs Management Committee meetings once a quarter
• Works closely with the Executive
• Represents the Association globally, e.g. dinners, conferences, presentations
• Has a macro involvement in Sub-Committees
• Spearheads the Association in terms of strategy & direction

The professionalisation of the Association that has taken place over recent years, as well as the committee structure and professional Executive, all contribute to the position of Chairperson being less of a time commitment than was once the case; it nevertheless remains an exciting opportunity to take the Association forward.  Applications are open until Friday 2nd March.
