Other Notes

*Rare Earths (RE) are generally defined as Scandium, Yttrium and the series from Lanthanum – Lutetium in the periodic table. The purity of rare earth metals and compounds is traditionally reported as a percentage of all rare earths. When defining a particular material the “total rare earth metal” (TREM) or “total rare earth oxide” (TREO) contents should be stated.

Certain older CIS materials were not analysed for all rare earths and reported purities could be misleading. In such cases, an independent analysis should be provided.
