50 flasks, with zero tolerance (+/- 0%)

Documentation

Standard documentation, as per MMTA Consolidated Regulations.

Weighing & Sampling

As per MMTA Consolidated Regulations.

Other Notes

Productions of a secondary nature are, by definition, not acceptable. However, material arising from stockpiles, such as the USA Defence Logistics Agency (DLA), could be acceptable providing material is still in its original producer sealed flasks and clearly identifiable as such. Its provenance arising from the DLA, or any other stockpile, would not, in such a case exclude it from being a good delivery.

Inspection Schedule

Open all the flasks, note any different markings or anomalous seals of heterogeneity. Viewing the surface of the liquid mercury in each flask.

Sampling Schedule

If there are no indications of material heterogeneity then sample on an incremental basis of 50 flask sub lots. If heterogeneity is suspected select the incremental groups accordingly but in sublots not greater than 50 flasks. The liquid mercury can be sampled by pipette the increments being combined in clean glass bottle.

Sample Preparation

The bulk sample for each sublot can, after mixing, be sampled to produce a quality sample in each instance, alternatively aliquots of the bulk samples can be mixed to produce a total parcel bulk sample from which total parcel quality samples can be drawn.
The balance of the bulk samples being held for reference purposes.
