35th Anniversary Dinner

Following last year's sell out event we have moved to a larger venue complete with a live band, dance-floor and late bar! There will be no speeches during or after dinner. 

It is going to be a memorable way to celebrate 35 years of the Minor Metals Trade Association!

Menu:

Cream of Butternut Squash soup with Rosemary
Monk Fish medallions drizzled with Lobster oil
Cannon of Elwy Lamb, Dauphinois potato & forest mushrooms
Baked apple with pine nuts and Maple ice cream
Coffee, Tea and Champagne truffles

The wines will be a Geoff Merill chardonnay (Australia) and an Avant Garde merlot (France).

MMTA Christmas Lunch

Lunch this year will be held at the Savile Club in Mayfair, London.

There will be an open MMTA meeting before lunch from 12.00 noon and the bar opens at 12.30. The wine has been generously sponsored by Minormetals.com (www.minormetals.com). During pre-lunch drinks there will be a light hearted quiz with a crate of champagne as first prize kindly donated by Avon Metals (www.avonmetals.com).

Guest speaker: Dean Bruce Magid of Brandeis International Business School will be shedding light on the global economy (www.brandeis.edu/global)   Opening speaker: Anthony Lipmann of metal trader Lipmann Walton & Co., will be discussing the rhenium market (www.lipmann.co.uk). Wogen Resources have challenged the Minor Metals Trade Association to a cricket match on 13th July 2009 in Westminster, UK.

MMTA members are invited to put on their cricketing whites and defend the Association's honour!

First ball will be 4pm and spectators from MMTA member companies are more than welcome to attend.

There is no ticket charge for this event and Wogen will generously provide a BBQ for players and spectators alike.

Auction of Promises: This year we will be raising money for Cary-Mufulira Community Partnership Trust, a charity supporting educational projects in the town of Mufulira in Zambia.
In place of the traditional raffle, MMTA is asking member companies to donate ‘promises’ to be auctioned at dinner to raise money for this worthy cause. Promises for theatre tickets, a flying lesson and an ‘alpaca-experience’ have already been pledged! Please contact the Executive with your ‘promises’ for this excellent cause.
